Part of our Tie Dye collection, our Indigo & White Shibori Tee is hand-dyed using the Marbled Indigo Pattern. Shibori (from the verb root “shiboru” – “to wring, squeeze or press”[1]:7) is a Japanese manual resist dyeing technique, which produces a number of different patterns on fabric.
Why do we hand-dye our shirts before airbrushing them? We believe in sustainable dyeing practices. When we dye in small batches we save many gallons of water, a resource we respect living in the desert. When we airbrush rather than silkscreen, we save even more water while reducing landfill waste by making only what we need. No excess inventory is good for Mother Earth!
We are committed to practicing sustainable practices at every level of our design process. When we begin a design, the first thing we think about is how to reduce water waste, post-consumer, and landfill waste. We think about these things and we hope you do too. When you are done with our gear, we recommend re-selling, gifting or giving the item to charity.
